Front Teeth Decay (really stressed and scared)?

Lauren asked:

I am honestly terrified and stressed out because of the decay that is forming on my front two teeth. I don’t know if its me but on one tooth it looks like it is getting darker (very light brown still, it just resembles a small spot of discoloration on my teeth. the other is barely noticeable since it is very small and almost the same color as my tooth).
-How fast do teeth decay if you properly brush, floss, use MI paste, and use listerine at least twice a day?
-At the moment i have braces, so i don’t know what i can do about it now, but i want to have my teeth whitened at some point, so if i have a filling, will i have to get it redone or will it also whiten?
-Is it possible to manage the tooth decay or will it just get worse in the future?
-I do not have any pain in either teeth, nor am i experiencing any sensitivity. Is this a good sign or is it hard to tell?
-Besides fillings and extraction, what are my other options?
-Can decay be misdiagnosed (like could it really be something else)?
Also, i have looked at images of tooth decay, and what is on my tooth does not look like any of the pictures.

Slimy feeling in mouth after brushing teeth?

Dr. N. asked:

The slimy feeling in your mouth after brushing your teeth is due to your epithelial cells having an allergic reaction to one or more ingredients in certain toothpastes, which causes your tissue to “shed,” leaving the sliminess behind. This normally happens with whitening, tartar control, and anti-sensitivity toothpastes. For those of us who have this issue, it is recommended that we use a plain toothpaste. I am unaware of any health or gum issues that may arise when continuing to use a toothpaste you are allergic to.

Does having a sensitive teeth means you’ve got a weak teeth?

Danica asked:

I have a very sensitive teeth for abusing whitening toothpaste and over use of electric tooth brush. The sensitivity is not my main concern. My question is if your teeth is sensitive does it mean it’s weak? Will it brake easily if I eat something hard? Is there away of making it stronger?

What should I do when my teeth are extra sensitive?

neverneverland asked:

I whitened my teeth with an at-home bleaching kit from the dentist’s office and my teeth only felt slightly sensitive while doing it. Then afterwards the pain got progressively worse until it was pretty excruciating, and now its better, but still a nagging pain and sensitivity. This has been going on for HOURS now! I have been using a special sensitivity toothpaste with flouride when I brush, but it doesn’t seem to be helping. I also tried tylenol and vicodin which didn’t help the pain either. Does anyone know any products or remedies or ANYTHING to help get rid of or prevent tooth sensitivity? I’m supposed to use that whitening kit at least a few times to get desired results, but now I’m dreading ever doing it again after the pain. Is there anything else I can do to combat the sensitivity? Thanks.

Can tooth whitening toothpaste cause sensitivity in teeth?

Brooke22365 asked:

I started having trouble back in October. I went to the dentist, and he couldn’t find anything wrong with my teeth. He said wait a little bit and see if it gets better. I just realized that my probelm started after I started using Colgate toothpaste with tartar protection and whitening. I have been using Sensodyne since the problem started and have not been using the Colgate, and while things are a bit better, I still have pain.
Will it get better if I stop using it?

Whitening trays hurting teeth? (not sensitivity)?

ali asked:

i’ve been using whitening trays that have been professionally molded to my teeth for months now, but just recently when I remove them in the morning one of my front teeth hurts like the tray was putting pressure on it. Like the way a retainer or braces would hurt. Is this normal or should I replace the trays?
