crest white strips vs listerine dissolving strips?
canyoustillfeelthebutterflies? asked:
I love crest white strips, they whiten my teeth awesome,
with little sensitivity!
I am about to get a new box, but I’m thinking instead to get the new Listerine dissolving strips? I’ve read that they taste bad, they leave a “gunk” layer, blah blah..
But what I reallly want to know is do they whiten better then crest white strips?
Has anyone used both?
Which works BEST!
Thanks guys!

Stick with the Crest Whitestrips. I have tried a box of the Listerine strips. I wanted to give them a try since I love Listerine mouthwash.
Anyway, the whole idea of whitening is that you must hold a concentrated form of hydrogen peroxide to your teeth for a certain length of time for the peroxide to penetrate the enamel. With the Listerine strips, they dissolve in about 10 minutes… that obviously means that the peroxide isn’t held to the teeth for any appreciable length of time. So from a practicality stand pont, I don’t even see how they could be that effective unless they had a very high concentration of peroxide, which they don’t. They are only 6% peroxide, which is the same as the Crest Whtetrips classic. But think about it, even with the Classics, you have to wear the strip to your teeth for 60 minutes a day, where the Listerine ones will only end up being approximately 20 minutes. So again, it doesn’t even make sense how it could be as effective as Crest strips.
And, btw, from the box I used, I didn’t experience any whitening at all that I could notice. Which, I’m not surprised one bit at all about considering how short of a time these things stay on the teeth.
So my advice is to stick with what you know works. Crest Whitestrips Premium is the only OTC whitening product I use now.
