Is it a dental abscess?
Peach_Heist asked:
I have had a tender bump under my chin, towards the bend in my jaw for a few days. i can feel a pea size lump if i feel around. it is tender to the touch but otherwise does not cause pain. i do not have a toothache and do not seem to have red or inflammed gums. I would imagine that an abscess would have started hurting, or gotten worse, or my teeth would have become sensitive in some way.

i do however seem to have a small canker sore, which i believe is a result of at home teeth whitening. i’m wondering if this is related to the bump, or is a sign of an abscess in the teeth? Can the home whitening cause infection or sensitivity? Is it all coincidence?

it is possible the whitening has caused this if it is new to you however unlikely, but possible it may well be a pimple under the skin yes they appear by your jaw if i were you to be on the safe side get it checked what with the risk of losing teeth or even oral cancer i would see a dentist also i had an absess and it isn’t worth the pain believe me i lost a tooth because i was too stubborn to go to a dentist i regret that now LOL
