CooL GuY asked: out of all the teeth whitening products which one works the best? the crest whitestrip?? or does it depend on the sensitivity of a persons teeth….well for the crest whitestrips do you gotta wear that until you run out? or is it a wear for one week then you get whiter teeth for 12 months then after 12 months you can resume wearing it again?

♥ asked: Such as Crest white strips premium, for instance. I’d like to whiten my teeth but not at the expense of damaging them, so I’d like to know. Also, how severe is the tooth sensitivity after the whitener is used, and how long does it last?

chnchita asked: Last month, I had a crown put on a bottom molar that already had an old filling. The tooth had cracked. The dentist shaved down the tooth a bit, kept the filling intact, but now I’m having huge sensitivity issues when I eat/drink. Eating yogurt, or cereal, or cold water, or wine….hurts. It’s exactly like when I had my temporary crown on and could feel *everything*. (FYI – I require blocks for any dental work). I currently use a whitening toothpaste, but wonder if I need to stop that and switch to Sensodyne. I really don’t want to go back to the dentist (have been there five times in two months. But if I need to, I’ll go in to make this irritation stop! Ack.

Peach_Heist asked: I have had a tender bump under my chin, towards the bend in my jaw for a few days. i can feel a pea size lump if i feel around. it is tender to the touch but otherwise does not cause pain. i do not have a toothache and do not seem to have red or inflammed gums. I would imagine that an abscess would have started hurting, or gotten worse, or my teeth would have become sensitive in some way.
i do however seem to have a small canker sore, which i believe is a result of at home teeth whitening. i’m wondering if this is related to the bump, or is a sign of an abscess in the teeth? Can the home whitening cause infection or sensitivity? Is it all coincidence?

ashesofdawn7 asked: I have sensitive teeth to begin with, and I whitened with peroxide. Now I’m salivating excessively, and I have random shooting pain in one of my molars which has that silver coating over it. I put Ambesol on it, and I haven’t gotten a tinge of pain yet, so we’ll see if it works. Is Ambesol safe to use on a sensitive tooth after whitening? Are there any immediate soothers to try within a half hour of whitening?

yvonne a asked: SO I’m pretty compulsive about having a B1 (white) smile. I used to use crest whitestrips some years ago, and only once every few days.
My teeth/gums are SO sensitive now though i’m not sure what whitening system to buy. I’ve tried go-smile touch ups, which do nothing, nautral white gel thats super cheap and doesnt do too much either….
recommendations on whitening strips, trays, etc, that REALLY work and DO NOT give sensitivity?

Travis asked: Hi, I used Crest Whitening Strips (Premium) last night and was surprised by the horrible pain my front 4 lower teeth went through. I read up on it and apparently a lot of people experience this due to sensitive teeth, so I went and bought Crest Sensitivity toothpaste. I’m going to use this for a couple of days before trying the strips again.
I was just wondering if it is safe to use mouthwash with this kind of toothpaste? I know that it is supposed to help build more protection around your teeth, which is exciting, and I don’t know if mouthwash (crest pro-health) will mess with the toothpaste’s efforts or not. Can someone please enlighten me?

♥Lovely asked: i just bought rembrandt (sp?) whitening strips and used them for the first time. i had them on for about 10 minutes and i suddenly got a jolt of pain in my lower left teeth. it said if any sensitivity occured to take them off, but the pain didn’t even last long enough for me to stand up. so i left them on. a few minutes later it happened again and once again went away within a second or so (the pain was on the same side). then a couple minutes later i felt a jolt of pain on my lower right side that again went away quickly but i decided to take them off.
i had no pain on my top teeth and once i took the strips off nothing has been wrong… i rinsed my mouth with water and brushed my teeth and felt no sensitivity
question is: is it ok to use them as long as there is no continuous pain or should i discontinue use completely?
